Mid Aug Long Hiatus Post on Lace and Buttons :)

♥ It's been a
really
really
really!
long time since i blogged :)

My last blog post was on the start of the month, 1/8/2012 !
Had some great events happening that i would be sharing soon, been lazy to sit down and sort out all the photos and blog about them all ;)

Love the great long weekend, thanks to the Hari Raya Puasa Public Holiday!
Hope everyone had an enjoyable and well rested period :)

Today i'll be doing a quickie post on a great giveaway that I've won from:
Blogshop Magazine x Lace and Buttons

The above shown dresses are loving sponsored by Lace and Buttons for giveaway!
Here's the one that caught my eye instantly:

Want to know how to win the dress?
Details as follows:

I'm really a lucky babe to win the lovely dress out of so many people whom joined!
Want to know what i wrote on the Korean Ruffled Empire Cut Dress for my winning entry?

I'm so glad that i won, really love the sweet colour of this dress :)
And like i mentioned in my entry, the subtle pleats and gathered ruffles details are the eye catching statement of this dress!
I don't mind if it's slightly big for me at the waist since there's a tie string attached to adjust to my own liking!

Here's the Facebook post by BlogShop Magazine regarding the Lace and Buttons Giveaway Win:

And the lovely congratulatory email received from Melinda of BlogShop Magazine informing on winning the giveaway :)

Lace and Buttons has also sent me an email on the same day*!
I'll say thumbs up for their timely response :)

And i would say that the delivery of my dress's quite fast, remembered getting it in a few days :)
If you're also wondering why i mentioning this contest win from roughly a month ago is due to this kindly email from Lace and Buttons asking for my testimonial!

Excited much right?
I thought, what better way than to write up a blog post featuring them and hoping more of my friends get to know Lace and Buttons!

Anyway enough said, ready to see how the gorgeous Korean Empire Cut Dress looks in real life?
Here's me in the lovely dress  :))))

Close up shots:
*Ps please pardon my makeup-less face, took this during the weekends right after i woke up in the morning so warning! may look sleepy ;)

See see?
The dress look every bit perfect as shown in their photo!
True to pic :)))
I hate some online shops selling their apparels especially those Taiwan Sprees where the clothes don't look like the actual apparel when you receive them :(
So you can be sure how happy i was when i got my dress in the post via normal mail!
My first look when i saw the dress was that it'll be great for work!!!!

Thank u so much

Korean Empire Cut Dress

Loothavn's and GLOW's giveaway beauty product review!

1st BLOG POST OF AUG

Loothavn's and GLOW's giveaway beauty product review!

I've been such a slowpoke delaying my fantastic review due to exams last month!
But I've finally put this post up and really do hope whoever's reading would enjoy my review :)

First off, how did i discover this wonderful giveaway?

Check out:

Exciting much right?
Check out their blog post too:

My first thought was, here's my chance to be a beauty blogger LOL!
I then proceed to email them as mentioned in Step 1
And here's the reply that i've gotten:

 So nice right,
they let you list your preference so they can try and give everyone what they wants!

Here's my reply to share for Qn 7 and 8:

In order of preference from 1 (most likely to have)  to 4 (least likely to have)
    1. Eyeliner 1
    2. Eyeshadow 3
    3. Eye lashes 4
    4. Nail Polish 2

Any other things you would like to share? :)
*Thanks for having this great product giveaway and review session! It'll be a honor if I'm selected!

And lucky me got their reply that i've gotten myself a beauty product for Loothavn's and GLOW's giveaway! :)

I was so happy and excitedly waiting my parcel and here it is:

OMG PRETTY AND CUTE RIGHT THE ENVELOPE!
I went to FB Page and saw this:

These envelopes are the ones that each and every lucky babes receive!
All design and hand made by Loothavn :)
So thoughtful of them, i'm loving my little cute green envelope which i'll definitely keep as a souvenir!
How to throw away such a cute envelope right ;)

Anyway check out what's inside *GASP*

I was so expecting get only 2 product but they're so kind to give two!
They've send me the eyeliner and a pair of false eyelashes to use :)
So sweet of them right to also attach a Love note on the use and care instructions of their products!

I'll start off with the eyeliner first!
Look at the package, looking good ;)

It's waterproof!
Yeas to no messy smudges and panda eyes :))

Get my fringe away from my forehead first,
introducing my fringe sticker!
Pretty and useful little tool, can just stick on your hair to hold your fringe and you're good to go!

Anyway back to the eyeliner, so cute still got price tagged behind!
It's $11.90 for this, quite cheap as compared to many brands :)

Waterproof Eyeliner in Black :)

Close up of the description, made in Taiwan!

Opened up!
Before i start :)

Trying to capture the brand of this eyeliner,
it's Solone - Magic Waterproof Eyepencil EL-01!

My personal fav type of eyeliner is actually the liquid kind cause i prefer that they glides onto your eyelid smoothly and easily!
I actually started off with a pencil eyeliner before as my first eyeliner but results ain't that good :(
It doesn't draws a smooth line and you have to like draw draw a few times over your eyelid!
You have to control your force and be gentle too or you'll hurt your eyes!

So i was pleasantly surprise when i open up Solone Eyeliner ^^!
It looks like a miniature crayon rather than a pencil so i actually have high hopes for it before i start!

 Alright!
Here we go, starting off with my face w/o any makeup!
*Warning*
May look tired and listless LOL

Approaching my eye with the eyeliner...

One eye at a time so i think i start with left eye first then :)

Got my mum to take photos for me,
realised i'm not that pro yet to draw and take photos at the same time
LOL!

My method, use the free left hand's 2nd finger to press down on the skin near your eye as shown;

Then start drawing ^^!
I really love this eyeliner, as promised on the Love note:
The soft pencil tip glides on very smoothly and it's easy to apply!

In no time i'm done on my left eye!
Check it out:

 Quite obvious right the difference?
I suppose if i don't say you'll still be able to tell :)

I Love Eyeliners, they're a must have in every girl's makeup pouch!
Having drawn your eye make a huge difference, i always felt so especially after late nights and early work mornings!

Having used eyeliner makes your eyes bigger or longer depending on how you draw;
It helps to deepen your eye line too!

I usually draw my eyes with the eyeliner just a tad longer ",)

Super loving the effect of this eyeliner,
THUMBS UP!

Next up, the false eyelashes!
*It's hand-made :)))

I suppose this pair that they've sent me are the dramatic / party kinds,
i personally may not wear this type for normal daily use :)
But it definitely looks great to be used on special occasions!

Here we go, took out the pair of lashes!
I don't know about the rest of the girls who joined this whether they know how to wear falsies but lucky me, I've learnt a few yrs ago ;)

Close up of the lashes, so pretty!
But i think a tiny downside is that they don't a small free tube of glue like some eye lashes that i've bought before,
BUT!
It's ok ^^ cause i have my own bottle of eyelash glue ;)

Introducing my cute little tiny bottle of glue
I was introduced this by my clsmate Anna ^^
It's been some time since i bought this, i think later part of last year or early this yr (i forgot when -.-)

This glue is very good as compared to some I've tried!
This sticks on well and it's very simple to use, just brush on the glue using the stick attached to the cover when you open the bottle :)

You can get it from Watsons, i think it's less than SGD5!

Alright back to my false eyelash,

putting glue now...

Done the glue coating process!
Must put on fast if not later glue dried up on the lash ;)

Oh ya my little tip, put more glue at the sides of the lash so that it sticks better to your eye!
My theory is that being the sides, they're more prone to accidents..
eg, you forgot and rub your eyes (may cause falsies to slant or drop out)

Again, my mum's here to help me take photos ;)

Tip: I usually look at the mirror like what i'm doing in the picture below now and position the fake eyelash above my real eyelash before i stick the fake ones onto my eyelid!
Do try and stick as close to your real lashes :)

Letting go one hand after i stablise the fake lash..

Press it onto your skin properly to ensure the whole lash sticks
You wouldn't want half dropping lashes situation would you?
HAHAS :P
*cause i had before so definitely must stick properly kays :)

Oh ya and try to press the natural and fake lash together so it would not seem 2 layer-ish!
Alternate, you can use mascara to clump them both together
(i didn't do for this but done before previously when both eyelash appears 2 layer-ish!)

And here we are, i'm all done now...
ON ONE SIDE LOL!

SEE THE MAJOR DIFFERENCE?!?
Not close enough?
No worries, take a look at this:

Super duper long lashes now right!
The next pic even funnier -.-
See:

MAJOR MAJOR DIFFERENCE!
See the impact that eyeliner and false eyelashes does :)))

OK I HAD IT WITH THE ONE SIDED THING,
NOW IT'S TIME TO PUT TOGETHER A WHOLE COMPLETE LOOK!

Gona draw the bottom too to further enhance the eyes,
will touch up the other eye later ;)

Drawing my usual eye extension line!

Fast forwarding to putting on the other fake lash;

And
I'm done :))))

Close up
